It all started during my 2025 summer vacation. I’d been craving a new adventure — somewhere that felt alive, colorful, and full of stories waiting to be discovered. Thailand instantly came to mind, and I just knew it would be the perfect place for me and Charles to go.
What made it even more exciting was that our friends, Nessa and Linardo, were already in Bangkok waiting for us. From the moment we booked our tickets, it felt like something special was about to happen. I could already picture the bustling night markets, golden temples, and quiet mornings by the beach — all the little moments that make travel so unforgettable.
That’s how our Thailand journey began — with a bit of spontaneity, a lot of excitement, and the promise of a summer we’d never forget

Travel Notes for Bangkok
Getting Around
Public transportation in Bangkok is surprisingly easy to use once you get the hang of it. The BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway are the most convenient ways to move around the city — clean, air-conditioned, and efficient. Both Google Maps and Apple Maps work well for navigating routes and finding nearby stations.
While taxis and Grab (Thailand’s version of Uber) are widely available, traffic in Bangkok can get intense, especially during rush hours — so the BTS and MRT are often faster options.
If you plan to explore often, consider getting a Rabbit Card, Bangkok’s transportation card.(You can purchase it online or directly at any BTS station. It works for Skytrain rides, select stores, and some food chains around the city.)
Tuk-Tuk & Taxi Tips
Always agree on a price before getting into a tuk-tuk — they usually don’t use meters.• Avoid “tour offers” from drivers around major temples or tourist spots.• For taxis, make sure the driver turns on the meter before you start the ride.• Grab app is your safest bet for fair pricing and convenience.
Extra Travel Tips
Keep small bills or coins for local transport and street food.• Most stations and malls are air-conditioned — but Bangkok streets can get hot, so carry water!• Rush hours (7–9 AM & 5–7 PM) are busy — plan your routes accordingly.• Be respectful at temples — cover shoulders and knees when visiting.

The timestamps provided are like a friendly GPS for your schedule—just a suggestion to help you navigate your day. Feel free to take a detour, stop for snacks, or completely ignore them and go on a spontaneous adventure! After all, who needs a schedule when you can have a good time?
DAY ONE - Touchdown in Bangkok!
Right after we landed, the first thing we did was activate our daily eSIM — super convenient for getting connected right away. From the airport, we booked a Grab, and honestly, it didn’t disappoint. The fare was fair, the ride was comfortable, and it was such an easy way to start our trip.
We headed straight to our hotel, Renaissance Bangkok, dropped off our bags, and took a moment to freshen up before heading out. Our first stop? Siam Paragon, where we finally met up with Nessa and Linardo. It felt so good to reunite — the city buzzing around us, the laughter, and that familiar mix of excitement and jet lag that always marks the start of a new adventure.
DAY TWO - Full day exploring Bangkok!
We started our morning with breakfast at Songwat, a local favorite known for its delicious dim sum and the kind of milk tea you can’t forget — creamy, rich, and perfectly sweet. After that, we took a short walk over to Chinatown for lunch at the famous Nai Ek Roll Noodles, a Michelin-starred restaurant that completely lived up to the hype.
Once we were happily full, we took a Bolt ride to Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the biggest markets in the world. It was crowded, colorful, and full of everything from handmade crafts to street snacks — the kind of place where you could easily get lost for hours.
As the sun started to set, we made our way to Platinum Mall for some quick shopping before ending the day with a cozy dinner along Banthatong Road. The night felt calm and satisfying — a perfect way to wrap up a day filled with food, laughter, and the endless energy of Bangkok.
Day 3 – From Gadget Hunts to Fancy Tea & Fried Insects!
Our third day in Bangkok started with a quick trip to Mega Plaza, where Charles was on a mission to find a new camera battery. After that, we hopped on the BTS for three stops and made our way to MBK Shopping Mall, another great spot for electronics and local finds.
By lunchtime, we stopped at Terabest Restaurant to try their famous Kup Kao Kup Pla — a comforting local dish that hit the spot after all the walking.
In the afternoon, we headed back to our hotel, Renaissance Bangkok, for a little break and a super fancy afternoon tea. It was the perfect mix of elegance and relaxation before diving back into the city’s chaos.
As night fell, we explored M Square for some casual browsing before heading to the lively JODD FAIRS. That’s where we tried some of the most unique street foods ever — including fried insects and Thailand’s famous “jumping shrimp”. It was equal parts fun and unforgettable — the kind of experience you laugh about long after the trip is over.
Day 4 – From Ancient Wonders to the Chaos of Khao San Road
We started the day with breakfast at Khao Moo Daeng Si Morakot, a local spot famous for its red pork with rice — simple, flavorful, and such a classic Thai comfort meal. After that, we enjoyed lunch at Fei Ya, the elegant Chinese restaurant conveniently located right below our hotel.
In the afternoon, we set off for the Ancient City (Muang Boran) — about an hour’s drive from Bangkok. It’s a huge open-air museum filled with stunning replicas of Thailand’s most historic landmarks and temples. Walking (and biking!) around felt like traveling through time — peaceful, green, and beautifully detailed.
As the sun went down, we made our way back to the city and headed straight to Khao San Road. The energy there was electric — music, lights, street food, and travelers from all over the world. We grabbed a few drinks, soaked in the atmosphere, and ended the night laughing in the middle of the chaos that makes Bangkok so alive.
Day 5 – A Change of Scenery: Off to Pattaya
Day five was all about a little change of pace. We packed up our bags, said goodbye to bustling Bangkok, and caught a bus to Pattaya — a smooth two-hour ride filled with quiet roads and glimpses of coastal scenery along the way.
Once we arrived, we checked in to our new stay, the Laminiera Villa, a beautiful small luxury villa tucked away in a peaceful area. It instantly felt like the perfect spot to slow down after days of city exploring — private, cozy, and surrounded by calm.
We spent the rest of the day just settling in, relaxing by the pool, and enjoying the quiet side of Thailand. It felt like a small escape within the trip — a reset before more adventures to come.
Day 6 – Exploring Pattaya: Temples, Beaches, and Night Lights
We kicked off our day in Pattaya with a visit to The Sanctuary of Truth, one of the most stunning wooden temples in Thailand. Every inch of it was carved by hand — intricate, peaceful, and full of meaning. It felt like stepping into a piece of living art.
After that, we headed to Terminal 21 Pattaya for lunch, where we tried the famous Thai Boat Noodles — warm, flavorful, and just the right comfort meal for the afternoon.
As the sun began to set, we made our way to Pattaya Beach, taking in the sea breeze and watching the sky slowly change colors. The city felt more relaxed here — laid back but still full of life.
When night came, we decided to experience Pattaya’s nightlife district, just to see what the city is known for. The streets were lively and full of music, colors, and people — a completely different side of Thailand compared to our earlier days in Bangkok. It was the perfect way to wrap up our last full day, full of contrast and unforgettable energy.
Day 7 – The Last Morning & Reflections on Thailand
Our last morning in Thailand came way too soon. We packed our bags, took one last slow breakfast, and just sat for a moment soaking it all in — the sounds, the warmth, the feeling of being somewhere new yet strangely familiar.
This trip gave us so much more than we expected — from the busy streets of Bangkok to the calm shores of Pattaya, every day felt different, exciting, and full of stories we’ll never forget.
More than the places, it was the people, the laughter, the food, and the small everyday moments that made it special. Thailand reminded us why we love traveling so much — it’s not just about seeing new sights, but about feeling alive in the middle of it all.
As we headed back home, tired but happy, we both knew this wasn’t a goodbye — just a “see you later.” Because Thailand? We’ll definitely be back. 🇹🇭✨
